Academy of Arts students’ accomplishments in the performing arts.

Mandy Murphy starred in Thoroughly Modern Millie at Richardson HS Jan 29 – Feb 1. Mandy studies tap at Academy of Arts.

Ashley Abraham performed as front line chorus member in Annie with Morrow’s Performing Arts showing at the Courtyard Theatre April 17-19. Ashley studies voice, piano and musical theatre.

Jonathan Luce rated 1+ in GMTA Piano Jazz Festival in December and 1+ at the GMTA (Garland Music Teacher’s Association) Piano Sonatina Festival April 25. He performed on the GMTA Honor’s Solo Recital April 26. Jonathan studies cello and piano.

Jonathan Luce appeared in the Murphy MS production of Legend of Sleepy Hollow and appeared in a supporting role in The Small Wooden Horse in February.

Andrea Luce rated 1+ in GMTA Piano Jazz Festival in December and 1+ at the GMTA Sonatina Festival April 25. She performed on the GMTA Honor’s Solo Recital April 26. Andrea received a ribbon award for her violin performance at the Dallas Symphonic Festival, sponsored by DMTA (Dallas Music Teacher’s Association.) Andrea studies violin and piano.

Paul Pierce received a ribbon award for his piano performance at the DMTA Jazz-Pop Contest in March. Paul has been studying at Academy of Arts for almost a year.
